E3 - Microsoft review

The show started with gameplay footage of the upcoming The Beatles: Rockband as well as confirming that the 360 version will get the song "All You Need Is Love" exclusively and that all the money for the sales, will go to Doctors Without Borders. Epic charity work Release date September 9th.

After that, Tony Hawk comes and talks about Tony Hawk Ride, no mention of the $120 price tag (no joke, that's real). Release date: Fall 2009.

Then came a live demo of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and it was awesome. Also announed, that Xbox Live will get 2 downloadable map packs exclusively for a limited amount of time. Release date November 10th.

After this, Square-Enix appears to show Final Fantasy 13, running on Xbox 360. Too bad they only showed a small battle. Release date Spring 2010.

Epic Games then comes to talk about a new Xbox Live Arcade game called shadow Complex, a 2D shooter. Release date: summer, 2009. Nor word on Gears of War 3 from Epic.

After that 2 short trailers, one for Crackdown 2 (YES!) and Left 4 Dead 2 Crackdown 2 doesn't have a release date yet and Left 4 Dead 2 is coming on November 17th.

Next is Splinter Cell: Conviction, a trailer is shown, followed by a demo. This actually looked pretty awesome I'm looking forward to it the most. Release date. Christmas 2009.

After that: Forza Motorsport 3 announced which looks pretty awesome. Release date: October 2009

Unsurprisingly, Halo 3: ODST is shown. A demo is shown and the story is laid out. Aparrently, it'll follow more than one soldier, all story lines said to be connected somehow. It looks like Halo 3, but it also looks better than Halo 3. Release date: September 22th. Halo: Reach announced, multiplayer beta with ODST, but so far, only a small teaser, no information, other than a Fall 2010 release.

After that, Alan Wake is shown. The game looks quite impressive and actually scary, reminds me of Silent Hill 2. Looks great, but both the voice acting and writing seemed a little cheesy. Release date: Spring 2010.

Best part is that now we can expect Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox 360. Yes Metal Gear Solid on the 360. No release dates announced.

Project Natal is announed, and aparrently, Steven Spielberg is working on it, they talk about the program and such. Kudo Tsunoda (creative director of the program) comes in to show a painting feature (which actually looked cool) and finally, Peter Molyneux showcasing a interactive character called Milo, who is able to answer on all of you questions, no matter how random they are. The part shows a real person (Kate) and Milo having a conversation, it looked ok I guess, but it was a bit far fetched, he responded to everything she said, that is far fetched. There's no way in hell that this is possible, this has to be scripted. Even more absurd, is when Kate is drawing a drawing and lifts it to the Xbox Camera (Or Xbox Fluid) and aparrently the drawing itself comes to Milo. And thus, the conference ends.

Overall Microsoft brought forth a powerful lineup. A ton of exciting games, and the MGS shocker. Some weak parts with Natal and such, but nevertheless a good confrence.

7/10
